How does the Pettibon System work?
The Pettibon System relies on gravity to help patients’ spines achieve an ideal shape and alignment. It begins with a series of x-rays that help physicians determine where misalignments are occurring. Participants in this treatment method are required to wear weights on their heads, hips, and shoulders. Patients wear these various weights for up to twenty minutes per day. The placement of these weights, as well as their exact weight, are determined by a chiropractic physician beforehand. While encumbered by these weights, patients will naturally begin to shift their bodies to compensate, eventually allowing their spines to adjust and re-adjust to an ideal state.
How is the Pettibon System different from other techniques?
The Pettibon System does not rely on prescription medications, surgeries, or other invasive or potentially harmful treatments. It is also slightly more aggressive than massage therapy. Not every patient is accepted into the Pettibon System, and those who are accepted are selected because they can directly and effectively benefit from the treatment.
What all is involved in the Pettibon System?
The Pettibon System includes additional exercises, such as Wobble Chair exercises, Linked Trainer routines, 6-Way Stretch exercises, and use of the Pettibon Tendon Ligament Muscle Stimulator. The Pettibon System is a full-body methodology that seeks to strengthen several core areas of the body while aligning the spine.
