Can Axelgaard electrodes be used on more than one patient?
No. According to FDA guidelines, the electrodes pose a threat of cross-contamination if used on multiple patients. The electrodes should only be used on a single patient, and a new set used for each individual. Every time an electrode lifts off the skin, it can pull with it dirt, skin cells, germs, and other debris that stick to, and can become absorbed into the gel.
How many Axelgaard electrodes can be used at one time?
The amount of electrodes used at a single time depends entirely on the individual, any potential health conditions, and the size and strength utilized in a session. For example, when using smaller electrodes on a low setting, more may be used. With larger electrodes or with higher configurations, it is best to use fewer pads at once.
