Super easy and great to have handy. Top blue rings fits snuggly into lower blue cup. Fill with water. Freeze 6 of them and keep in freezer until needed. When taking out for use, I would suggest running the big cup under hot water for about 30 seconds, then twist the small blue top ring to increase the chance of removing the ice so it is smooth and unbroken. IF it breaks, its only a few chips usually. The top blue ring make for a nice handle so you don't freeze your fingers, and the ice "bullet" quickly becomes very smooth and gets right to work on inflammation. A must-have for those who think that the ice-packs of ANY kind are better; they're not. NOTHING is better than direct ice and this cup is perfect for direct ice application. Plus, being a smooth, large, ice "bullet", it feels nice to glide on and around sore areas. There is NO cold product that I know of that can do better and deeper cold penetration that direct ice with these cups. Try one, and you'll come back to order more like I did.
